Hi fellow students and Professor DuFault! My name is Dylan, but I go by Cole, my middle name.
I am excited to be taking this course! This is the first dance I have done in a long time.
I am a Computer Science senior who transferred to SUNY Potsdam two semesters ago.
Honestly, the first reason I signed up for this class was to fill requirements (AE + PE wow!), but I had an ulterior motive. I used to dance, primarily tap, when I was a young kid. When I was in middle school I dropped more than 6 years of dance due to peer influence. Now, I'd like to start dancing again. My background included Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Modern, but I haven't danced in more than ten years now, so I have a lot to learn (again).
I hope everyone is staying safe, and looking forward to this semester!
Cole
Absolutely tap, I did it for 6+ years! I'm very rusty now, but there was a time when I would do compititions and take master classes.
And are you the guy from San Diego? I just made a post on your intro, I'm from socal!
hey cole, would you say you are more into tap than other form of dance? I’ve only had experience with hip hop dance at parties in Southern California.
Hey if you run a tap class I might have to get some shoes!
I am a fellow tapper too. I will hopefully teach it again next fall.
Thanks for the tech tips. I did have my setting at HD, but I agree that having the ether cable plugged in will improve things. I did get it to work, yesterday. Yay!
Thank you for the kind message! I don't think I'm ready for dance auditions! I'm a little out of shape and definitely out of practice! I would only really be interested in doing tap, and I haven't had shoes in ages. Maybe next semester!
Hi Cole,
It’s nice to meet you, and I look forward to our first Zoom dance class together. I am especially excited that you have chosen to get back into dance. If you are interested in doing more than just the class, we are holding an Open Call Dance Audition on Saturday, September 5. 3pm for our annual Student Choreographer Media Dance Concert Series. There are nine choreographers looking for dancers like you. If you go to cyndance.org and click on ’Auditions‘ at the top of the page, you will find loads of information about how to attend. Thank you introducing yourself, and I hope you have a great first week. Cynthia
