I want this piece to focus on different connections and relationships between the four dancers. What are things I can manipulate or repeat in this piece? What are some formations.
hey britt! what goodie in that hoodie you have on?
heres some of my notes that i took down:
- in phrase 1: check at your dancers leg, arm, and hand placements. each one is doing something different so i would clarify if you want them the same or not. also is emma and heather touching or not cause it was too far to be touching and too close to be not touching
-in phrase 2 (duet): can they interact somehow. i like that they don't touch but i feel as though they can exchange a look or two in the moments where their bodies are almost facing each other, just something to play around with. also
have your dancers look at each other and really see one another! some exercises you can do are having them walk around the space and make eye contact as they pass each other, stopping for a moment, and then continuing, and building up to making eye contact, circling each other shoulder-to-shoulder without breaking it, and continuing on (thanks Robin) to help them get comfortable/not giggle when they look at each other. I really love all the facings you're using and everything you have so far is super clean and coming along so nicely. i think repeating that duet would be effective- maybe introducing it as a solo, having people join in or interject- like layering it on top of itself or changing up the order of each movement, stuff like that! maybe two duets happening at different times/speeds etc would be interesting to play with too. and let them really breathe together on those reaches. big group SNIIIIFFF can be a better way to eliminate the audible breath cue. it's good to incorporate stuff like that now as they continue to get comfortable with the movement- breath is part of the choreo!
the spiraly/circling around each other is really effective and i think also scooting them all closer to one another will really make the changes in spacing/crossing thing more dramatic! i love what you have so far and i'm really excited to see where you're gonna take it. don't be afraid to bring back things you've done!! it's all been done before, so don't feel like you have to make everything up out of thin air. take it one step at a time.<3

Hey Britt! Here are some notes I took down:
* If breath cues are staying, really work on how the cue is given
* Timing is slightly off the the dancers lay on the floor and switch legs (before leg swings)
* During the duet, make sure the dancers are initiating from the same body part or clarify if it's intentional
