Congrats! Your movement, costume, music, and dancer choices are all strong. Explain to your very talented dancer to try to have the trickier movements seamless with all of the other movements with free flow and effortlessness. As I do like the music, unless its royalty free, it will have to be altered and/or edited somehow because of YouTube copyrights. I am glad that you are using the outdoors, and I can't wait to see the end product. Whenever I think of meaningful memories, film tends to use slow motion. Ever notice that? It may be something to consider in your editing process. I also see filming closer, from many angles, and/or film circling around her as she dances.
Hi Taylor,
Wonderful job with this piece, I really enjoy how calming and emotional it is. The fact this will be filmed with water will truly make this piece absolutely stunning.
When it comes to filming this, I really do think that less is more. I think simple shots both close-up and long shots will work the best for you. Using simplicity to your advantage will truly make this piece shine. Using facial expression and very fluid movements while using close-ups can really show the deep emotion that this piece conveys.
I would recommend, when editing this to use simple transitions like a fade. Really, from what I see, the fade transition will solidify this piece as truly meaningful dedication. Fading in, or having two different shots at the same time can really make this piece look stunning.
I really enjoyed watching this and I can't to see it on film.
hey taylor! this looks really good and came along well. Im also excited to see this in water!! i would maybe play around with different facings so its not so forward but that also depends on your camera angles. maybe also play around more with different quality and moments of stillness.might work especially in the water.
Taylor,
It looks like you have picked a dancer that fulfills the movement you are providing and that is really cool to see. The dancer travels often with the exception of toward the camera for lack of a better term. I was wondering if that was intentional (not a criticism! Just genuinely curious!) It is not hard to imagine this movement being done in a watery atmosphere. I agree with Bri that perhaps playing with more staccato movement could be fun and create even more dynamic movements depending on the rhythms you are trying to create, but also I don't think it would be necessary to add more. Just a thought. Excited to see even more :-)
Hey Taylor if you can’t tell by the email it’s Bri and I have to say good job for the start You have a lot done so far. I also wanted to say sorry for your lost my love. I’ve noticed your movement quality is very fluid and you have a little bit of staccato movement, maybe you should try playing with staccato movement more often.
You have beautiful movement quality overall and since you have so much done now you have lots of time to perfect it which is great! My only concern is certain movements in the water. The turning and the part where she’s rolling on her back, will these be comfortable to do in water and will she slip at all? If not, perfect! But just in case its something to think about.
Hi Taylor😊 First of all, the title is simple and unique! It's clear that your final location is water and I'm also excited to see how much more the movement will be within the water. There's a nice contrast of quicker and smoother movements that fit well with your music. Also, great job to your dancer for already starting to perform the choreography! Beautiful tribute so far!
Hi Taylor! First, I'm sorry for your loss and I admire you wanting to pay tribute to him. I think the movements are beautiful and flowed nicely with the music. Her energy also works great with the music, and I think the location will work great as well.
